The course is designed to provide trainees with practical skills and theoretical knowledge on science of moving heat from low temperature to high temperature applied in (RAC) systems and equipment. Fundamentals of physics related to air-conditioning and refrigeration, plan, organize and complete work in an air conditioning and refrigeration work environment. Use and maintain air-conditioning & refrigeration systems and replace domestic compressors.

National Vocational Certificate in Welding and Metal Fabrication - NQF Levels: Level 1 to Level 3
Welding and Metal Fabrication has to do with working with many different types of products made of metal. Fabrication work involves, selecting the correct material, inspecting blueprints, making sketches, and following verbal instructions.
The most typical type of welding is arc welding, in which two metal clops are attached a section of the work piece and to the thin welding rod, when the two touch, it creates a powerful electrical current that melts them together. The other two common types of welding are Gas Tungsten Arch (TIG) and Gas Metal Arc (MIG). TIG is used for aluminium and stainless steel, while MIG utilizes a continuous spool of a wire to join long stretches of metal.

Job Duties
Welders and Metal Fabricators produce and install, this involves selecting the right material, inspecting blueprints and making sketches. They cut the materials by using power cutting tools, then assemble the pieces and weld it together. They also repair sheet metal products when they find a problem and modify the pieces needed.
