Gobabis Vocational Training Centre (GVTC) is located in the town of Gobabis, in the Omaheke Region, known as the Cattle Country, a unique area referred to as the only Country within a Country. GVTC was established on January 11, 2016, following the Namibian Government's initiative to enhance Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country. This initiative was driven by the Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Innovation (MHETI) and executed under the custodianship of the Namibia Training Authority, as mandated by the VET Act No. 1 of 2008.
OCCUPATIONAL OFFERINGS
GVTC offers a range of occupational areas aimed at equipping Namibians with the skills and knowledge necessary for various industries, particularly in mining, engineering, building, and civil sectors. The key offerings include: Office Administration Level1-4; Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Level 1-4; Metal Fabrication (Welding) L2-3; Clothing Production Level 1-3, Automotive Mechatronics Level 2-4; Electrical Engineering (Electrical General) Level2-4; Leather Products Design and Manufacturing Level 3.
GVTC CORE BUSINESS
Delivering hands-on, practical training programs that equip trainees with the skills and knowledge needed for specific occupations, or careers.
- GVTC is offering NQA accredited qualification courses that are listed on the NQF framework.
- GVTC is accredited by NQA and registered with NTA.
- GVTC also offers a variety of informal skills- and entrepreneurial training based on requested and established demands, ultimately leading to improved local and regional entrepreneurial development.
- GVTC provides Services to the community and business sector.
